Y2K Sounds originated in the U.S. Virgin Islands in 1999 with Galiss and Chemist. In 2006 the NY base entered the scene with Shawn, Captain, Specs, Tunda, and Mike. In 2010 DJ Chaos and Francis stretching the Y2K Sound brand from Texas to the Far East Japan. In 2014 – 2016 Dj Khemist, Dj Savage and King Face became apart of the team to further reinforce Y2K as a force In Texas. In 2015 the Sound re-emerged in Clarendon, Jamaica with Mark, Michelle, Glen Stinger, Collar, Bentz, Kirk and Ratbat. In 2016 the Sound recaptured it’s original birth-place with the addition of Star General.
Y2K Sounds has became one of most popular sound systems across the globe, known for its superior sound quality, and maintained this position into the 21st century. It have shared the main stage with some of the world’s most Renown and Legendary Reggae and Soca icons to include Bunny Wailer, Ziggy Marley, Damian Marley, Alpha Blonde, Third World, Steel Pulse, Inner Circle, Gregory Isaacs, Israel Vibration, Buju Banton, Beres Hammond, Barrington Levy, Beenie Man, Sean Paul, Bounty Killer, Hypasounds, Rupee, Edwin Yearwood, Alison Hinds, Lyrikal and countless more…Y2K Sound being very active in the sound clash arena has competed and won clashes in Jamaica, Hawaii, Washington and Brooklyn NY. Y2K Sounds was also recognized as having the best sound system in the “tri-state” and started the trend across the globe that re-captivated the sound system culture around the world.
